(February 7, 2008) New York -- The World Lung Foundation (WLF) applauds the World Health Organization's "WHO Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic 2008" as a landmark step toward helping nations reduce tobacco's deadly toll worldwide. Our Mission: To improve the lives of individuals across the world by strengthening community capacity to prevent and manage lung disease. Health professionals in low income countries are overwhelmed by the growing TB/HIV co-epidemic. The World Lung Foundation supports management and technical training to help these colleagues to provide the best available treatment to as many people as possible.
