BBC Monitoring is a division of the BBC World that monitors the
mass media worldwide. Independent Contractor is required to work
using his (her) own PC from home (location). Scan (country) media
for relevant political and economic material; translate selected
articles into clear idiomatic English. Volume of work will vary,
but generally we will expect you to liaise with us every weekday.
You are required to have internet access, send and receive emails.
Ability to recognize news and information in Kazakh - Russian and
to translate selected material into English. Candidate will also
need to be able to plan and organise the workload in order to meet
deadlines. A minimum of two years of experience as a
translator/journalist is an advantage but not required.
